One of the most popular fashion designers is Iris Von Arnim, who was born in Poland which was earlier known as Berbisdorf. She was born on 25th January 1945 and began her career rather early. In the 1970’ during the early years, she had met with a car accident. While recovering, she spent major part of her time knitting and developing her passion for designing clothes as well. In Munich, she opened her own boutique in the year 1975 after which she debuted her fashion clothing in Dusseldorf at the CPD fashion fair. This popular German fashion designer was able to earn herself a moniker due to the introduction of cashmere in fashion designing for the very first time. As of today there are over two hundred departmental stores as well as boutiques showcasing designer clothing by Arnim. Iris Von resides in Germany, in the city of Hamburg. In Mexico, Cambodia as well as Pakistan, many weaving mills till date are supported by her. One of the largest competitions held for young designers in Europe is headed by her for which she is received the Apolda European Design Award. Her son, Valentin Von Arnim joined her company in the year 2006 and he has become the General Manager of the company since. With Claudia Schiffer, Iris Von Arnim in the year formed a joint venture and accordingly developed the Claudia Schiffer Cashmere Collection. Iris is responsible for the Iris Von Arnim collection global sales, development as well as production.
The Thuringian Order of Merit was awarded to Iris in the year 2011, for playing a very major role in the Apolda European Design Award credits. Fashion in Germany has been redefined by her and enjoys a presence in the global ramp market. Out of all the fashion designers in the world she is one of the top ten. She founded her company with humble creations in the early Iris Von Arnim collection that has been critically approached by her since. This has made her brand name a successful one all over the world.
